Canon Lenses

Whether full-frame or APS-C, these are the lenses that I have found to be the best for Canon cameras.

  1. Hi Matt,

I need some advice, I will be going on a European tour next year and want to get a new lens for my T2i, I want to take one lens, a was considering one of these
    – Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM
    – Tamron 18-270mm VC ultra zoom for APS-C
    – Tamron AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO
I want to travel light, just want to make the best decision.

    Thanks for your input.

    1. Hi Binh,

It really depends a lot on your own personal style; lens choice plays an important role in defining your own style.

For my own work, I like a photojournalist setup; a 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8 , plus a lower light lens, like a 50mm f1.4 , and maybe an ultra wide-angle…. or the equivalent for a crop sensor. Take a look in the lens recommendation section for the specifics.

Some people, though, shoot only prime lenses; they might use an 85mm, a 50mm, 35mm, and something longer, like a 180 or 200mm. It all depends on what look you’re going for, and how you like to shoot. I don’t like changing lenses, and I like versatility, so I prefer zooms.

If you give me a little more detail about what you have in mind, I might be able to offer some additional suggestions.

      – Matthew
