Early Black Friday 2020 Deals on Cameras and Lenses and Photography Essentials

Black Friday is usually pretty disappointing for photographers, but this year some good discounts seem to be appearing, perhaps prompted by COVID-related economic concerns. This weekend, both Sigma and Tamron announced sales on some of their most popular lenses, and even Adobe seems to be getting in on the fun.

Sigma

Sigma is offering discounts on quite a few of their best lenses, including the awesome 24-70 f/2.8 ART lenses for Sony E-Mount and for Canon/Nikon DSLRs, though the savings on the E-mount model is modest at only $40. Here’s the list:

Tamron

Tamron is offering discounts on their entire line of professional f/2.8 zoom lenses for Sony E-Mount, which are really their bread and butter these days, and they’re all excellent. Take a look at my reviews of the 28-75 f/2.8 and the 70-180 f/2.8.

There are also discounts on some of their excellent DSLR lenses, including the outstanding 35mm f/1.4, which may be the highest resolution 35mm lens that I’ve ever used.

Adobe

Adobe has a Black Friday sale every year, and they don’t offer any discounts on the photographer’s plan… that remains $120/year. However, they are advertising a 25% discount on the full creative cloud plan, bringing it down to $39.99/month, which is not too bad. But Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher are still only $50 each, forever. Just saying.
