Tamron announced its trio of new lightweight prime lenses for Sony E-mount in October, and two of them started shipping shortly afterward. But the third lens, the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 close-focusing ‘macro’ lens wasn’t quite ready yet. Now it is.
According to Tamron, the lens will hit store shelves on January 30th, in just two weeks, still at the expected retail price of $349.
All three lenses (including the 24mm f/2.8 and 35mm f/2.8) are priced identically, and use the same exterior housing, so they look virtually identical. I haven’t had a chance to test them thoroughly yet, but my initial experience has been that their image quality is excellent.
